01 — Features

Everything in one place

The tools you switch to all day, built in instead of scattered across apps.

Claude Code

Chat with Claude right inside your project. It reads your files, runs commands and shows its edits as diffs you accept or reject.

Spotify, built in

Play your music in a tab. It pauses when you minimize and resumes right where you left off.

Discord presence

Show the file, project and problem count live on your Discord profile while you work.

Made for Lua & FiveM

Native completions, linting and snippets for FiveM, plus Python, C#, C++ and JavaScript.

Git & debugging

Stage, commit and diff from the side bar. Set breakpoints and step through your code.

Themes & icons

Dark and light themes, inline color swatches, and file icons for every language.

Write it with the editor's own nova API — commands, status bar, completions, linters, themes, AI and Git.

Zip your extension folder, making sure it contains extension.js at its root.

Publish

Upload it from the Dev Area. It installs into the editor and you can manage it any time.

04 — FAQ

Questions

The things people ask most before downloading.

Is it free?

Yes. Empire Code Editor is free to download and use on Windows 10 and 11.

Do I need an account?

Not to install or edit. You only sign in when you want to use the Claude Code extension, and you can sign out again at any time.

Does Claude see my code?

Only when you use the Claude Code extension and it reads the files for the task you asked for. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you start a Claude conversation.

How do the Spotify and Discord features work?

Spotify plays in a tab inside the editor and pauses when you minimize. Discord shows your current file and project on your profile through Rich Presence. Both are extensions you can turn off.

How do I build an extension?

Write one with the editor's nova API, zip the folder with its extension.js, and either install it from the in-editor "Add Extension" form or submit it here.

Will there be a Mac or Linux build?

The current release targets Windows. Other platforms are being looked at.
